色々話題の耐えないGoogleさん。
「Google Android」でモバイル向けのプラットフォーム開発参入から、
最近はその搭載製品で話題になっています。
が・・・
とうとうＰＣプラットフォームに本格参入です。
やっぱりきたかという感じ。

色々、各社の記事には書いてあるのだが、まとめてみた。

⇒オープンソースプロジェクトで、無料で提供される。
●(言語/技術概要)Linux
⇒Linuxをベースとした軽量オープンソースOS
多くの時間をウェブに費やしている人々に向けて開発されている。
●(対象ハード)ネットブック
⇒公式ブログ＞FAQ発表サポート企業：
Acer、ASUS、Adobe、Freescale、Hewlett-Packard（HP）、Lenovo、QUALCOMM、Texas Instruments（TI）
(※企業の中にDellの名前がないのも注目されている。)
⇒米CNET News予想サポート企業：
ASUS・Lenovo
●(公開予定)09年中にソースコードを公開
⇒2010年後半には搭載ネットブックが市場に登場する見込みだとしている。
■2.そもそもOSが無料ってどうなの？■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
無料配布を予定している「Google Chrome OS」。
過去の歴史から見ると俗に言う「100ドルパソコン」でもLinuxベースOSを搭載していた。
そう。OSの値段は高いのだ。先日発表のあったWindows7を例にとるが・・・

しかし、開発費がかかるし、セキュリティサポートに莫大な費用がかかるのも事実。ちなみに・・・

この記事で述べられている通り、ネットブック中心からの参入の先には「クラウド転用」が見え隠れしている。
Googleの歴史(最近だと特にWaveの例)から考えればむしろ自然だ。
しかし、セキュリティの側面からサイト停止or断線時のリスクについても上記の記事の通りリスクはある。
でも、リスクはあっても、シンプルなネットブック用が妥当と判断したのは理由に、Windowsと同じターゲットを競うのではなく、振興系産業市場を狙ったのもあるだろうし。
このGoogleの判断について、「無謀」という声はほとんど聞こえてこない。
ちなみに、ネットブックは確実にシェアを拡大している。

対Microsoftとして話題になっている一方。
世界で2番目に普及しているOSの会社。Appleについては興味ある評論があった。

ポイントは以下の通り。
・Chrome OS公開時点での主要ターゲット⇒Appleが参入していない市場、ネットブック。
・Chrome OSの商品コンセプトと抜本的に違う⇒Appleは高いマージンで売れるコンピューターを製造。
・Chrome OSはソフトである⇒Appleはハードがメインである。
では、この視点からすると・・・
○Windows環境からは逃がれたい
↓
●Chrome OS
↑
○Appleのプレミアム価格は出したくない・・・
という構図が想定されるという内容だ。
しかし、公開時点なので当然、将来的にどんな開発戦略にうってでるかは、ネットブックでの検証後になるでしょう。
OSもブラウザも多様化。ユーザーとして選択肢が増えるのはいいのですが・・・
もはや、多種類OS下でのクロスブラウザチェックが現場で激化する時代は、
すぐそこに来ているといえるのではないでしょうか？

「JAVATEA」のＣＭを最近よく見るようになりましたが、サイトもカッコよくなってます。
斜めのレイアウトに、フレキシブルな動き。そして、DTPのような十分なマージン。
HTMLベースだとどうしても直覚的なグリッドデザインになりがちですが、
フルFlashのレイアウト利点をデザイン的に非常に生かしたデザインのサイトです。

■グーグルがパソコンＯＳ開発、当初はネットブックに搭載へ―マイクロソフトの牙城を崩し新しいスタンダードとなるか?
こんにちは。グーグルがとうとう、パソコンＯＳの開発を正式に発表しましたね。これは、前からいわれていたのですが、正式にははじめてのことです。現在丁度、パソコンは、本体にソフトを入れて使う時代から、本体にはブラウザのみ入れて、ブラウザにより、いろいろなサービスを受けられる時代に変化しつつあります。これをスムーズに行うためには、いわゆるブラウザがＯＳのような働きも兼ねていることが望ましいです。この、新ＯＳ「グーグル・クローム・オペレーティング・システム」はまさにこれを狙ったプロダクトです。まだ詳細は、説明されていませんが、その登場が今から期待されます。私のブログではこの新しいＯＳに関して私の考え方などを掲載しました。詳細は是非私のブログをご覧になってください。

Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.
